Sony hopes to avoid the difficulties faced by NGP PS3

New technologies present new challenges, it seems Jack Tretton, SCEA boss, has admitted that Sony hopes to launch NGP, they are not facing the same difficulties that characterized the release of PlayStation 3. During an interview with Engadget, Tretton was asked if he believes that problems may arise in producing a portable device so advanced.

"I hope not," he replied, "but I think that when you're dealing with a new technology, they can always check out unforeseen challenges." NGP has been described as powerful as a PlayStation 3, but, according to Tretton, Sony is hoping to avoid the same difficulties faced during the launch of its flagship console.

"I think that we are committed to differentiate ourselves from the media and offer a technology that people could not even imagine, and this involves risk. I think PlayStation 3 is our greatest success in terms of technology, and realize it has led to challenges from both financial point of view and from the point of view of production.

" "In the end I'd say it was worth it, but it was not easy. I think we should try to avoid reliving the same situation, but just when you're dealing with new technologies, always check with an obstacle." Source: CVG
