Cryptic Studios, developer of City of Heroes, Star Trek Online and Champions Online, has been bought by Chinese company Perfect World. Perfect World has had to pay 50.3 million dollars to acquire the study in 2008 had been paid for by Atari just over half, 27.5 million dollars. Perfect World operates in the segment of free-to-play, one of the main achievements of the company include the MMO Legend of Martial Arts and the Battle of Immortals.
According to Perfect World, the acquisition aims to strengthen the company's strategies relating to Western markets.
