According to latest reports it would appear that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was originally planned as downloadable content for Marvel vs.. Capcom 3. In an interview with Famitsu (reported by the Japanese site Game Jouhou and translated by Andriasang), Capcom has revealed that he decided to sell UMVC3 form of play because of the budget disaster that struck the country in late March and the Rising Sun subsequent health problems of the staff.
In the same interview was also announced that in future, new downloadable content will be released for UMVC3, including costumes and will present novel ways such as Hyper Combos. UMVC3, currently 80% complete, it was announced last week at Comic-Con in San Diego. The game will include a new balance of gameplay and characters unpublished 12: Strider, Firebrand, Vergil, Frank West, Phoenix Wright and Nemesis by Capcom, Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye and Iron Fist for Marvel.
