It's been even four years since id Software has announced for the first time and the new RAGE graphics engine, id Tech. Now the game is almost over and the team is putting the finishing touches on the shelves in anticipation of the arrival, scheduled for Oct. 7. "After four years of hard work we can be more than satisfied with the end result," said Tim Willits, creative director of the team, "it is without doubt the best game ever produced by id Software." Willits added that the last time the team focused on improvements to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game.
"The consoles are different from the PC to read data from a hard and often the biggest problems come from the loading of textures, but even in this context John [Carmack] and the team did a great job."
