Sony and LG have ended their legal battle concerning the rights of Blu-ray. In February, LG had tried to prevent the sale of PlayStation 3 and Bravia televisions in the U.S. and Europe because of the violation of certain patents related to Blu-Ray. The first battle was won shortly afterwards by Sony, which had the green light for sale.
LG instead took a fine of about $ 130,000. Now the two companies appear to have buried the hatchet by signing an agreement that will allow both to take advantage of technologies at the heart of the dispute.
