Game Reviews: Dead Nation

Share this story Share on Facebook too! All shooters that rely on a view from above, they provide both analog sticks to move your character and to manage the viewfinder with the other (with the fire in automatic mode). In this game but we will approach a bit 'less arcade: in fact, you can always use the right stick to handle the pointer of the weapon but the fire will not be automatic but rather should be managed by pressing the R1 button.

Also interesting is the way we handle the weapons, rounds and everything else. The main goal of the game is to kill as many zombies as possible and get to various checkpoints, but will also present some exploratory where, thanks to our courage, we earn money we can then spend in shops. So, according to the level where we arrived, we can choose to upgrade some weapons or buying new ones.

Additionally various weapons are well differentiated: the flamethrower will be useful in certain circumstances but totally ineffective in others, and so on for all the different weapons. Good also known as secondary weapons, in fact we have at our disposal grenades, mines and signs to indicate our position.

This differentiation would be useful when playing in co-op with a friend of ours: in fact, one could toast the zombies with a flamethrower while another could mow. In short, give us the possibility to organize different tactics, avoiding the usual we have to shoot and nothing else. However, if the multiplayer works very well locally, online is a few problems that we understand that you had to pay more attention to this mode.

In fact, if we do not have a friend invite, then before it is time we found an opponent to ashes and back on our TV: in fact the so-called matchmaking is really slow. Also you can not communicate with your partner so that it is unfortunately impossible to coordinate the actual shares. A very important problem that could be fixed with a patch but you expect that from December 1 and then the users are a bit 'impatient.

Other minor problems are those that we usually find in titles like this: it often happens that the action a little agitated and sometimes become very confusing at times seem a bit 'too repetitive. Nothing can be said for the graphics and sound: in fact they are well made and thus contribute to feelings of being in the midst of thousands of zombies in a river of blood.

The enemies are many and varied and this allows us to avoid that sense, the controls are customizable, although sometimes they are not perfect, for example the exchange of the gun is a little uncomfortable. The darkness helps the atmosphere perfectly, with the main character holding a torch in his hand and makes her way with the enemies that appear suddenly.

I remember Dead Nation is available for the PlayStation 3.
