Maybe at GDC 2011 there was also room for Ron Gilbert, a true legend of the game design, the author of some of the greatest adventure games ever seen as Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken and Monkey Island and currently used in conjunction with Double Fine's historic links Max Schafer. Gilbert has offered to the onlookers, or at least to the more nostalgic, a reason to dream, it mentioned a remake of Maniac Mansion, albeit only as his personal desire.
The game designers said that this is something that is often thought: In the same way they have been rebuilt, the first two chapters of Monkey Island, or reinterpreted in Telltale's episodic series, including Maniac Mansion could be a palatable way. Gilbert would come back to it and change some things, correct some of the dynamics of puzzles to complete the game dated 1987, but also wonders whether it is right distorting it.
The question in every case does not depend on him being released by LucasArts, can not take decisions because the rights are firmly in the hands of the publisher. But maybe a re-edition in HD may not be completely out of the question, we'll see.
