SEGA blocks amateur remake of Streets of Rage

Nothing to complain, much to argue there Since we reported the release, we should let you know that Sega has blocked downloads of the remake of Streets of Rage performed by a group of amateur developers, the Bomber Games. So far nothing to complain: Sega has the rights to its brand and can do what he wants.

But there's a detail that distinguishes this story from other similar organizations such as the EA's request to remove the remake of Ultima IV from the web: Streets of Rage Remake as an act of love for the series, released in free form strictly , the developers had taken care to ask Sega permission to establish and run the project.

Sega had authorized, although not formally. So Bomber Games has continued to develop, which lasted eight years, to get to version 5.0. Why Sega has remembered to stop after all this time? Perhaps because the Free remake dwarfing the paid versions? Also, what will happen to others like the exceptional remake Sonic Fan Remix, which is also well known by Sega? Why, instead of shutting value projects, Sega do not take them under his wing giving more prominence? Source: Bomber Games
