Nintendo closes the European site for phishing threats

Fishers of data Given the current climate in the recent past, Nintendo has seen fit to take a precautionary measure to defend themselves (and protect customers) from any problems of phishing (attempts by third parties illegal collection of personal data). That is why the European site has been disabled, or at least parts of it including the Club Nintendo, which should reopen as soon as possible.

"Protecting people is our top priority so we immediately took steps to close some parts of the site until further notice," Nintendo has said, "We want to reassure everyone that we do not collect data on bank accounts, credit cards or addresses on the European Nintendo website, so these data are not at risk, "he also stated, given the precedents.

It is not clear what exactly the threat glimpsed by the company, but a safety precaution never hurts, pending further information.
