The official website of the Independent Games Festival has announced that all games be appointed to receive an award at the ceremony, as usual, at the close of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, on 2 March. This thirteenth edition of the festival will be remembered for the almost 400 games enrolled, 30% more than last year, reflecting a rapid increase in popularity for the scene "indie" and the IGF itself, whose ranks have resulted from some resounding success with the public and critics as World of Goo, Darwinia, Braid and Limbo.
The matadors of this year will instead be the psychological horror Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Veterans Frictional Games, and the "revelation" Minecraft, a phenomenon for nearly a million copies developed by one person. Other titles to have collected more than one nomination is also signal Desktop Dungeons, Nidhogg and Bastion.
