The co-founder of Relentless Software, Andrew Eades, told the Videogame Source Buzz! is now "a closed chapter." A chapter in the transition to next-generation PlayStation 3 seems to have left some trail. "Looking at the time the PS2, I do not think anyone could be satisfied by Buzz on PS3. In our opinion there were too many Buzz! And too fast on the PS3," says Eades.
"If you have sold 100 million consoles (the case of Buzz! Era of PlayStation 2) difficult to find a sufficient number of people interested in this type of security. Of course the idea was to convince these people to buy PS3 Buzz! But to be honest, a console that costs 425 pounds can not give you an important catchment area.
We had to live with this problem. " Eades also complains about the inability to enter the market for bundles with PS3 Buzz!, But does not want the blame on Sony: "I'm not blaming Sony.'s Not their fault and not the fault of Relentless. Certain choices have been made because of market conditions.
" "The market has changed, not us. We will continue to make games that we have developed and many of those who buy our games are in possession of a PlayStation 3. Making a PS3 game costs a lot and I do not think it makes sense to invest a lot of money in a way that will appeal to a small catchment area.
" Eades, however, points out some of the innovations introduced by Relentless Buzz! PS3: "We had the first user-generated content, LittleBigPlanet also the first, we were the first to implement trophies on the PS3, we were the first to integrate with Facebook. We are proud of that." And what about the future of Buzz? "Sony owns the license, they will decide what to do.
I defy anyone to do better than us in a quiz game and especially in a Buzz."
