While Sony was one of the main supporters of 3D, Microsoft appears to have a few concerns with technology. Some Xbox 360 games are compatible with the 3D view, but from the point of view this is not the same quality stereoscopic 3D effect offered by several PlayStation 3 games. According to some rumors emerged some time ago, Microsoft would announce their support for stereoscopic 3D at E3, but this did not happen.
The senior product manager for Xbox, David Dennis, explained why. "The 3D is an interesting segment," said Dennis Videogame Source. "Other industry players have been promoted in an attempt to convince the 3D users to switch to new technology. Of course, some want to sell 3D TV but I believe that technology should adapt to the gameplay in a natural way." "We are still assessing the interest of consumers against this type of technology.
The gameplay will be enriched, or is the player is distracted by what happens on the screen? The proof is a couple of times and then return to the old 2D mode?" . "We continue to monitor the penetration of 3D TV, and when we can be certain that consumers are interested in the technology will update the system as we did in the past."
