DICE has confirmed that, as he had initially announced, all versions of Battlefield 3 (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360) will be based on the engine Frostbite 2.0. Some rumors said that the console versions were not based on the engine in question, but the declaration of the designer Alan Kertz removes any doubt about it.
"I confirm that none of this makes any sense. The Frostbite 2.0 is the engine that moves the game on all platforms," Kertz wrote on his Twitter account. The PC version will be able to handle multiple players simultaneously online and, of course, will be more spectacular, but the technology used will be the same on all three platforms.
