Kinect can map the reality

A new standalone application takes full advantage of depth perception sensor Martin Szarski Microsoft has pulled off the impossible by Kinect and was able to use the sensor to create three-dimensional maps of real places and objects. But Szarski went further and with a GPS and a kinect on the machine was able to map part of a road, making the fabulous option for Google street view a relic of antiquity.

In this case, we are well beyond the mapping of a face or simple 3D photo even though the visual quality of the results is still at the top. Obviously the program is working to improve its application and still shared the code on his blog to which you can use it. Source: Blog of Martin Szarsku
