Not necessarily in terms of distribution the great chief of Electronic Arts, John Riccitiello, told her the famous question of digital vs. traditional distribution, showing an unexpected imbalance towards the former option. Riccitiello held that "without doubt", in 2011, precisely at the end of the year, the business of digital delivery will overcome the traditional retail based on optical media and packaging.
Although the idea of a progressive dominance of the digital is shared by almost everyone, it is surprising place Riccitiello to the timing, given that this year still seems too close for a period of time to think about a reversal of gender. Is there something else behind, however. Riccitiello sees the digital business is not necessarily opposed to retail, but to some extent complementary: as the head of EA good part of the revenue you have with digital games sold in retail and then updated with additional content digitally.
In some cases, even free games based on becoming more profitable than those paid by the micro-transactions, thus overcoming the digital media to retail, when viewed in terms of revenue, may not necessarily mean a view to redressing the number of copies distributed in digital delivery .
