The team Oddworld Inhabitants has officially confirmed the development of the HD remake of the immortal Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. "Abe HD is about to enter production phase," said series creator Lorne Lanning at EGM (via VG247), adding that the team will be Just Add Water to treat the project. "Basically, this is Abe's Oddysee in high definition with a physics engine that allows to implement a 3D platform 2D.
We want to repeat that experience of playing with modern technology." Developed by Oddworld Inhabitants, Abe's Oddysee debuted on the PSone and PC in 1997. A collection that includes the original title and all the sequels, Oddbox, newly arrived on Steam. The remake of the fourth game of the series, Stranger's Wrath, will celebrate in 2011 on the PlayStation Network, while on XBLA expects the green light from Microsoft.
Yet to announce the launch date, price and target platforms for Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee.
