Mortal Kombat banned in Australia

The new chapter of Mortal Kombat will not come out in Australia. The announcement was originally an unnamed source of IGN, but subsequently the same Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed the news. "The reboot of Mortal Kombat, released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, was rejected by the Australian classification system, so it will be released in Australia," reads the official press release of the publisher.

A representative of WBIE said that "the company is extremely sorry for the Australian players, who can not play with the new chapter of one of the most beloved franchises in video game history." "We are aware that its contents are not suitable for everyone, but it would be more appropriate to classify 18 + mature players and allow you to choose whether to play or not." This is not the first time that the Australian authorities blocked the release of a product in the country.

In 2009 happened to Alien vs Predator and even Valve was forced to change some contents of Left 4 Dead 2 to avoid suffering the same fate. In the other countries is confirmed the game is released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 21.
