While Activision closes its division of Viacom and sells Harmonix music games, Ubisoft announced a new music game, Rocksmith. "Guitar Hero is a party game. Rocksmith is a musical experience," said senior vice president of marketing at Ubisoft, Tony Key, to The Hollywood Reporter. According to Ubisoft the game will teach players to play the instruments and will use "most" of peripherals for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 in trade.
