The Wii's online is not as good as, according to Iwata

Nintendo would have to turn to outside companies to handle some aspects' s strange to talk about shortcomings and limitations for a console that has sold more of eighty-six million units, but with Project Café on site it is clear that Nintendo does not want to repeat their mistakes, although their impact on hardware sales was apparently minimal.

In a question and answer session with investors, Satoru Iwata has therefore declared that the Wii did not have the network infrastructure needed for effective access to online multiplayer, web browsing and news. The presence of a Wi-Fi and an integrated online shop, though positive, was not accompanied by a rapidly through the contents, usually with a slow connection, which has severely limited any social implications of the experience.

"To be honest, the future of the Wii could have been different if Nintendo had created partnerships with outside companies in the field of Internet services, when the console was still in the early stages of market penetration," said Iwata. "In other words, at that time was Nintendo insist on wanting to do everything alone.

Although we have now realized the error, we want to clearly differentiate those who are our real strengths of what we do instead of but we could only delegate to someone else to get more results. The new approach that we want to have influence on the quality of online content such as 3DS for the Nintendo Wii system is going to happen.
