The 3DS is a controller for Wii U?

The use of the Nintendo 3DS as a controller for the Wii U is technically possible, but according to Nintendo, the same considerations to do about it are many. During a meeting with investors, the boss of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, said that the company will transform Japan "without hesitation" the Wii controller in a 3DS U if this proves to be the "obvious choice", but still has some doubts about it.

"If Nintendo titles for Wii or Wii U can not be fully enjoyed without a 3DS, some users might think that Nintendo is forcing them to buy both systems," said Iwata. "To avoid this, therefore, we do not adopt this solution unless the connection of the two systems does not prove absolutely the most natural solution." In the past, allowed him to use the Nintendo Game Boy Advance as a controller for the GameCube titles, including The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures.

Then a special cable was required to connect the two devices, which according to Iwata limited detail appropriate dissemination of the initiative. For a hypothetical link between 3DS and U Wii, however, would not need any wires. "Even if we were to pursue this solution, however, develop the system so that users do not make you feel as if we were forcing them to buy both consoles." Iwata has confirmed that at the time, using the 3DS as a controller for Wii or Wii U is impossible to access the Internet with the home console.

"This technical limitation will remain unchanged unless you intervene with special hardware changes," continued the boss of Nintendo.
