Norwegian developer Funcom says Age of Conan MMO is "the most visually impressive" in circulation. According to game director Craig Morrison, however, the remarkable aspect of Age of Conan has had a price. "Our engine is very comprehensive and uses all the latest graphics technology," he told Videogame Source.
"We are very proud to have the most visually impressive MMOs on the square. There are very few games that can compete with us on the front chart." "All this, however, came at a price. Not many machines can run the game with settings that every user would want. After seeing the movies everyone wants to start the title with the same graphic details of the video, but is often not possible because of hardware limitations.
"This could be the reason, according to Morrison, so some users suffer from stability problems and crashes. "The players do not like to use the graphics settings to a minimum," he continued. "They want to turn all the details of how to play in the trailers. Their machines, however, are not always able to support the software." This month, Age of Conan has become free-to-play, changing the name in Age of Conan: Unchained.
Among the free-to-play Age of Conan stands out in terms of graphics and Morrison believes that this will prove an important point for years to come. "MMOs are long-term projects. In the early years of Age of Conan will be a pretty powerful gaming PC, but in five or six years is still relevant, detail that will allow them to be competitive in the market for a long time."
