A few hours after the launch of Kongregate Arcade, Google has removed from the Android Market service created by Kongregate, which offers hundreds of free downloadable games. As stated by Kongregate, the reasons behind the decision of Google "has not been disclosed. Kongregate Arcade is still accessible on the website of the company.
This currently includes over 300 games for mobile devices and will be updated every week with titles taken from the catalog of the desktop version of Kongregate Arcade, which inlcude about 36,000 games. Kongregate is a cloud service that requires you to connect devices to the network to play, a few titles, however, can be downloaded and played offline.
The mobile service will ensure the Social same functionality offered by the desktop version: charts, goals, feedback and evaluation system for games based on user reviews. The application is compatible with devices based on Android OS 2.2 and Flash Froyo 10.1.
