Sony reveals PSP2

During an event held in Tokyo, Sony Computer Entertainment boss Kaz Hirai has finally unveiled NPG, the next-generation handheld console made by Sony. NPG, or Next Generation Portable, PSP comes as the successor to that time, will include a system of revolutionary social functions and augmented reality.

The console will be available "during the holiday season", tells Hirai. NPG includes an OLED screen 12.7 cm, two analog sticks, d-pad and face buttons, touch panels front and back, the console also supports 3G networks and Wi-Fi, incorporates features of the Sixaxis motion control and video front and back to use, even in games.

The analog sticks are small but have a structure similar to that of the levers of the DualShock controller. There are also over the keys back, start / select button and the PS. At the rear lies the handheld touch panel, whose dimensions are identical to those of the OLED screen. The position of the fingers on the touch pad can then be followed on the screen.

According to Sony, the resolution of NGP will be four times higher than that of the PlayStation Portable, which was operating at a resolution of 480x272. The console will include a slot for flash cards Game New Media and presumably the PlayStation Store will be the focal point for games and applications.

According to Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida advantage of the console are the visual height of PlayStation 3, the display of high quality, dual analog stick and the combination of traditional controls, motion control and touch panels. NGP will eventually be compatible with PlayStation Suite, which will offer Android store digital content PlayStation.
