About Ridge Racer 3D and 3D effect Pass Street

In the new episode too 3D Heading Iwata Asks, general manager of Namco Bandai tells something Yozo Sakagami development of Ridge Racer 3D, the new chapter of the historic racing game developed for 3DS. Apparently, the 3D effect has been reduced to a certain point of development as not to disturb the player too.

Sakagami explains that the original idea was a spectacle than the game by placing 3D elements such as car and slamming it to launch the player in 3D but the developers have realized that such elements would have disturbed the concentration of the user engaged in running best with their car, so the idea was discarded and the boundary elements were a little 'subdued in their three-dimensional effect.

Regarding the Pass Street, it seems it will be possible for a player to send their data to guide other users 3DS surrounding even if the console is in sleep mode, with a continuous exchange of ghost and journey times against which then the players can clash through StreetPass Duel.
