Eight million Nintendo 3DS distributed in the West during the first year?

This estimate of Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey, an analyst at Janco Partners, provides that Nintendo will release more than eight million 3DS in the West during the first year of the handheld console. "We estimate that Nintendo will distribute 8.17 million of 3DS between America and Europe in the next fiscal year the company," the analyst said in a statement.

Nintendo expects to sell four million 3DS during the first month, which in effect will be the last of the fiscal year. "We believe initial sales of 3DS will have an extraordinary success, whereas in the market, that of the handheld have been placed almost hundred and fifty million sixty-five million Nintendo DS and PSP," said Hickey.

"We also expect a jolt into the environment due to the arrival of an experience without 3D glasses. This factor, coupled with insufficient initial stocks and a strong launch line-up, will eventually attract adult players and the people who already have a Nintendo DS. " Source: CVG
