Location important for Pokémon

GameFreak, developer of games in the Pokémon franchise, explained that the securities of the series usually arrive in the West long after the release of confidential versions of the Japanese market because the studio wants to locate properly the names of the characters. "The difference between the launch in Japan and the West is due to the fact that we try to offer the best experience possible not only to Japanese users, but those around the world who want to securities located," said a source on game Videogame director Junichi Masuda.

"For example we are concerned with the translation of the names of Pokémon. We could simply adapt the names, but the meaning would be lost so take the localization process very seriously." Pokemon Black and White will be available in Europe since March 4, or about six months after the launch of the Japanese version.

"In Black and White we changed how we work. This time we have translated directly from Japanese into other Ligue. In the past, however, translates from Japanese to English and from English into other languages." "This allowed us to reduce delays. We are making efforts to this, we had many new members on the staff of translators." Pokemon Black and White is the best selling game in Japan last year with 5 million units.
