According to rumors, Bungie would be developing an MMO in Activision for subjective called Destiny. Indicated by the code name Tiger, the game would be based on a new engine and would complement a series of matchmaking and online gameplay. According to rumors, the project is called a "World of Warcraft in space." The rumors were reported by Kotaku, which also refers to the dismissal of 30 employees of a business partner of Bungie.
The authors commented on the story of Halo on the company blog, denying the veracity of the information reported by Kotaku about the layoffs. But the developer has not spoken of rumors of the alleged MMO that the company would be developing for Activision, Destiny. Bungie has repeatedly made it clear he wants to create a product "always available for the players and the ten-year agreement with publisher Activision would seem to support the hypothesis of a project as an MMO.
"I can not reveal the details," he told Videogame Source Brian Jarrard from Bungie last year. "Without doubt we are thinking about a world where people want to spend their time. Just like Halo have a grand vision, so we signed a ten-year agreement with Activision." The following month, in May 2010, a job posted on Bungie talked about the research from the developer of experienced staff in the genre of RPG.
