After the decision to stop Metal Gear Online Konami, Square Enix has also decided to meet the demands of the Japanese government suspending the MMO Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV to avoid wastage of energy. The suspension of the two MMOs will go on for at least a week ago to know the publisher.
In April, users of Final Fantasy XI will play for free, however. "Because of the continuous earthquakes that hit the east of Japan from 11 March, electricity suppliers on Japanese soil have asked citizens to cooperate to tackle the energy problem that will lead to rationing of electricity," Square Enix said.
"So we decided to temporarily close the game server and to terminate the services related to Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XI and PlayOnline.
