Nintendo has announced that it has so far sold 3.61 million of 3DS. 1.06 million of portable consoles have been sold in Japan (where the console debuted about a month before), 1.32 million units in the Americas and 1.23 million other platforms in the territories, which include Europe. The company is Japan also claims to have sold 9.43 million of video games for 3DS.
Overall, the fiscal year ended in late March of 2011, Nintendo has sold 17.52 million to 15.08 million DS and Wii. In total have been sold since the launch of the DS console 146.42 million and 86.01 million Wii. "Strong inside and outside of Japan," sales of Pokémon Pokémon Black and White, "strong" sales of Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wii Party, Donkey Kong Country Returns, New Super Mario.
Bros Wii and Wii Fit Plus, however, than the previous fiscal year, sales were down 29.3%, while profits were down 66.1%.
