All teams will move to Rage Doom 4

And All the other information section of id Software currently working on Rage, including company founder John Carmack, will move on the development of Doom 4 as soon as the work will be concluded on the first. In essence, the soul of the Specialist Group on technology from id Software will be transported in bulk on the new chapter of Doom, as was expected, but this will probably happen only after the summer, when Rage is now completed and sent to the shops, with its release scheduled for October 7.

Apparently, Doom 4 will be released no later than this generation and platforms are provided for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Carmack reiterated that the game is scheduled to go to 30 frames per second in single player, one-half of the 60 planned for Rage, but a necessary compromise to ensure the amount of enemies and items on the screen provided for the new Doom.

In multiplayer, however, the framerate was expected to reach about 60. The next project, probably a result of Rage, will almost certainly be "cross-generational", that will point to the next generation of consoles.
