The designer of FF Tactics and Vagrant Story enter into Level-5

Yasumi Matsuno, designers of Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story, decided to join the staff of Level-5. Matsuno has released an interview with Famitsu in which he explains his choice to move from a big company like Square Enix, with its mega-blockbuster videogame productions, a group much smaller and smaller as Level-5 (which well it is making money hand over fist with Professor Layton).

The choice is due to the search, by Matsuno, for greater creative freedom and being able to experiment with new ideas. Apparently, the same has been CEO of Level-5, Akihiro Hino, who wanted the designers strongly within the team, an agreement which materialized after a year of reflection by Matsuno.

There were no details about the new project in the works under its responsibility, but the designers said as a title that gave him the same feeling arose during the development of Ogre Battle for SNES. Matsuno left Square Enix in 2005 for health reasons, leaving the role of director of Final Fantasy XII having contributed to his writing and concept development.

Among the titles of his curriculum there are Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre and Vagrant Story.
