Tribes: Ascend will be a free-to-play title, has announced that Hi-Rez Studios. The developer has decided to embrace the F2P model to reach more users, said the boss of Hi-Rez, Todd Harris, on Video Game Source. "The free-to-play is a great way to increase the catchment area of the Tribes, and in this way we can test the game to many people without incurring excessive costs to promote the game." It is currently under way to conduct a beta to a limited number of Tribes: Ascend, Harris confirmed.
