The odd games for the awards ceremony of the new year, the Independent Games Festival has established a new special category, called "New Award" and dedicated to independent games characterized by a certain abstraction, non-conventional or special brevity. Clearly, there is a category that collects all the more strange videogame experiments, which are flourishing on the other hand with special luxuriance in the last period.
Currently there are 8 candidates, the following: Bohm, of monoband A House in California, Cardboard Computer Nidhogg of Messhof Dinner Date, of Stout Games Loop Coupler, Nicolai Troshinsky The Cat and the Coup, by Peter Brinson and Kurosh Brutally VaiaNejad Totally Unfair Tactics Now OK, Copenhagen Collective Game Hazard: The Journey of Life, by Demruth The winner will be announced later along with the other IGF Awards March 2, 2011.
