Only homebrew According to a message issued today by the mysterious hacker "KaKaRoToKS" on his blog, would come the first result revealed by the group fail0verflow exploits on the "private key" for PlayStation 3. It 'was then released the first custom firmware for the Sony console, which apparently can be applied to any version of the official firmware, including the last 3:55, introducing the option "Install Package Files" section dell'XMB Games.

However, it appears that the amendment does not present an opening to software piracy: it only allows the CFW installation code "signed and encrypted, like this in games retail. The meaning of this CFW is thus only related to the functioning of homebrew, which, however, will need to be compressed (or re-compressed) files.

pkg can be "read" by the firmware in question. "Since the kernel has not changed, this custom firmware is really designed only for future installations of homebrew programs, and does not allow piracy," assures the user that issued the code.
