COD, Activision relies on quality

During an interview on CNBC, the CEO of Activision Bobby Kotick said that the objective of the company with Call of Duty is to offer consumers a fun, not to find ways to implement a model subscriptions. "I do not spend much time thinking about how to convert the experience of Call of Duty into a subscription model," said Kotick.

"Rather than create new experiences to think of Call of Duty that will make consumers happy, and usually people are willing to pay for quality content. This is our intention." Last June, Bobby Kotick told the Wall Street Journal that he had the chance would have turned Call of Duty into a subscription-based service the next day.

Since then, several analysts predicted the launch of a new platform dedicated to Call of Duty with a series of paid services. Prediction seems to have materialized a few days ago with the announcement of a new platform and a team dedicated to the creation of content and services for the Call of Duty franchise.
