According to a former employee of BioWare, the developer of Mass Effect would have worked on Jade Empire 2 between 2006 and 2007. Rafael Brown, currently an employee of id Software, mentions "Jade Empire 2 (360/PS3/PC)" in the list of games not published, in which he worked, which include also True Crime 3 & 4, 2 and Gun Thunder Rally Nintendo .
The release of Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins as well as the acquisition by EA, were made after a period spent by Brown at BioWare in 2006-2007. A few days ago, Mike Laidlaw, BioWare told Videogame Source in the future the developer could build a new Jade Empire. "At the moment of course we have not announced anything.
This is one of those long-term projects, but could return in the future, Jade Empire," said Laidlaw.
