The 2010 big N has closed worse than expected according to Reuters, Nintendo showed a decline of profits in the order of 46% during the quarter ended December 31, 2010. The thing most likely be attributed to the decline in sales of the Nintendo DS after the announcement of 3DS. The profits of Nintendo's two-month period from October to December totaled 104.6 billion yen, while last year had reached 192.3 billion yen.
Sales of the Wii rose from 17.5 million to 16 million units, those of the Nintendo DS 23.5000000 to 22.5000000. The estimated profit for March have been brought to 210 billion yen, while last year were estimated 356.6 billion yen. In September, Nintendo has attributed part of the blame for the strong yen and the impossibility of having the 3DS ready for the Christmas period.
