"Hard" a simultaneous launch for NGP

According to Engadget from a SCEA boss Jack Tretton, due to logistical problems Next Generation Portable could miss the appointment with the launch winter in some countries. "Our goal is always to get a product out by the parties in the markets where we sell more," said Tretton. "That said, we will be the sixth launch of a new platform, and it is not easy to have a sufficient number of units for a simultaneous launch worldwide.

So this is our goal but the reality might be different." "Our goal is to launch the console in a market at least before the holiday season of 2011." Possible that the relevant market is the Japanese, where the handheld regularly sell more than fixed ones. In 2004, something similar happened with the first PlayStation Portable, launched in December in Japan and available in Europe only in September next year.

To have further confirmation on the launch of NGP, new Sony handheld, but refers Tretton at E3 2011: "We will not have an exact date until the fall. For more details you will need to wait for E3." The boss of Sony Europe Andrew House was equally vague as regards the date of launch of the console: "Without doubt it will be brought to the market by the end of the calendar year."
