EA Sports has produced a prototype designed to explore the potential for Kinect in a boxing game. Fight Night Champion, a new EA boxing title in the series, will not support the device for the Xbox 360 and Sony not Move. According to the producer of the game, Mike Mahar, in future, developers will seek to implement the motion control in games of boxing "by means of mini-games or with separate titles.
"At the moment, in terms of simulation, the best experience we can offer is what you get with the standard controller. I think that many of our users want, or are unable to continue to pull any punches for ten rounds! Should we make a fighting game that would be a different experience or MMA Fight Night.
" Kinect, available since last November, reported record sales of consumer electronics, making it the fastest-selling device ever, and Mahar seems aware of the potential of the device: "We built a prototype interesting. It could be a mini-game built in the main title. But I think the ideal would be to develop a different game.
