Cuts to staff for Sony Online Entertainment

According to some rumors, Sony Online Entertainment would be making heavy cuts to staff and would be preparing to close down some internal studies. One third of the company's employees could lose their jobs, reports Kotaku, whereby the SOE studios based in Tucson, Denver and Seattle are likely to close.

The earliest records relating to staff reductions of SOE had been given in recent hours of 3D Realms boss George Broussard on Twitter. A few days ago, Sony Online Entertainment has released Free Realms on PlayStation 3, earlier this year, the company launched the first MMO for PlayStation 3 DC Universe Online (also available on PC).
