The creators of Too Human will meet soon in a courtroom than Gears of War, to form the new phase of the dispute that will see players from nearly four years. At the heart of the dispute is the accusation by Silicon Knights, Epic towards colleagues, concerning the alleged "lies" about the potential real Unreal Engine 3, which would have greatly lengthened the development (and consequently the costs) of Too Human.
SK claims that Epic would be too involved in the development of the first Gears to provide support in understanding the operation dell'UE3. The case goes on for several years now, the first hearing was in July of 2007, and arrived in court after several attempts at mediation. "Initially, EPIC argued that our allegations were completely unfounded," said the boss of Silicon Knights, Denis Dyack.
"Two different federal courts, however, have given us and for this reason we are here again. Our aim has always been to make great games, not lawsuits, but Epic's conduct could not be ignored."
