Terms of the agreement between the hacker George Hotz (aka Geohot) and Sony have been disclosed. Hotz not be able to gain unauthorized access to products from Sony, PSX-Scene reports (via QuickJump). In particular, the attacker can not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Sony's products, or may use tools to bypass, disable or circumvent security and authentication systems used in Sony products.
Geohot also can not use Sony products to design, develop, update and distribute unauthorized software or hardware, illegal or pirated. In case of violation of the terms of the court, Hotz could be forced to pay up to $ 250,000 SCEA. Commenting on the news, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has spoken of a deterrent to hackers.
