EA: less games, more quality

During EA Showcase held in London a few days ago, Electronic Arts has listed the guidelines of the company, the four pillars of a future-oriented strategy: development of a smaller number of major games, focusing on supply digital ( both in terms of content and in terms of consumer involvement), expansion of free-to-play and direct channels with the consumer, the development of new IP and exploration of new genres.

According to (via MCV) from the marketing director of the British division of Electronic Arts, Stuart Lang, last year, the publisher had also doubled its share (from 8 to 16%) of the segment and the FPS is going to "publish the most important game of the year ", or Battlefield 3. "Our strategy of 'fewer major games' is already bearing fruit," said Lang, who according to the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Shift 2: Unleashed have reinvigorated the genre of racing games and led Need for Speed again, the brand leader in its class, both commercially and from that evaluation.

"In spite of our strategy, we are not neglecting the new IP, absolutely," says Lang finally, he mentions the launch in the coming months from American McGee's Alice: The Madness Returns, Kings of Amalur: Reckoning and Shadows of the Damned.
