April in the U.S., black month for Wii

In April, Nintendo sold 172,000 Wii in the U.S., the worst monthly result of the company in Japan since the launch of the platform market. As reported by MarketWatch, the Wii's sales were down 40% compared to March 2011 and by 38% compared to April last year. The Nintendo DS, the first of the portable console, it was the best-selling console in April after the Xbox 360.

Instead, declining performance of the new DS platform, able to sell 400,000 copies to 194,000 units in March, but stopped in April. In April, the U.S. market has seen in front of all Xbox 360 with 297,000 units, 203,000 of the PlayStation 3 sold by Sony.
