Aruba: fire, millions of sites in blackout

Aruba, web hosting company, suffered a fire last Friday night, precisely at 3 o'clock or so, this was the result of overheating of the plants located in Arezzo, which forced the main management system to stop providing electrical current, allowing to tame this small fire but it cost millions of websites in Italy a stop of several hours, with consequent damage paid out of pocket.

The web hosting service has been restored on the same day at 15:30 or so, but the damages have not been to Aruba a few, it seems that many in the hours following the client has decided to change and rely on competition, the company but with a statement confirms that it has kept 1.5 million domains and 10 000 active servers at full capacity.

To be fair this is not the first incident happened web hosting company in 2010 during an exceptional day of bad weather, the service was suspended again with damaged contents, but this time the blackout has affected all of the websites attached to the company Italian, triggering resentment and controversy for a control not effective, all at the expense of customers who could not use the service for over 12 hours, with consequent loss of economic and traffic flow, key variables for the Web sites' s day Today, in a competitive market and rapidly expanding.

Hope not to see again and inconveniences of this kind and that this is another wake-up call for Aruba and for all other web hosting company Italian. This unfortunate period for the web in addition to this unfortunate incident in recent days has been a problem for the Amazon network, which has created more chaos in this episode, the problem would be found in the data center, which has blocked the web giants like Netflix, streaming web site famous in the U.S.

and Zynga, the owner of several of the games on social networking site Facebook, among many other smaller companies that for a few hours could not take advantage of the network. For the extra U.S. territory, does not appear to have been confirmed damage, so users can be reassured Italians, although the situation has returned to normal yesterday at 100%.

Many newspapers and websites have launched the news, but what is most interesting is the comment of the users, the vast majority of strategic solidarity and understanding with respect to Aruba, which has repeatedly apologized for the mistake through a Twitter profile for the open ' occasion.

Other users would continue to complain and some have even decided to outsource to other web hosting company, reflection falls on the price offered by Aruba, in most cases, the fee is set at about 30 €, in fact many have advanced the application , is it really that serious for small sites 12 hours a blackout? against an annual fee so low, the answer is obviously subjective, but objectively looking back with a cool head is not damage as irrecoverable.

The choice, however, the market is very wide, with several companies offering web hosting offers the same level for the package offered and costs, but does not seem to be at the end of many who have real intention of changing supply, so this feedback, and chaos items to be considered is absolutely a flash in the pan, as in similar cases from the media point of view, it will go in the coming days by re-establishing peace and resuming the normal flow to the hosting sites, at least until the next incident, that all such unanimity we very much hope it does not.
