Namco Bandai good results for the first quarter of fiscal 2011

Japan, the company reported a +8.1% with respect to sales after the disappointing financial results, Nintendo, Capcom and Sega for the first quarter of fiscal 2011 (ie from April to June), we thought it might be a problem generalized to Japanese companies. The projections released today by Namco Bandai, however, refute this assumption: the company has closed the Q1 2011 sales totaling 88.2 billion yen (equivalent to $ 1.1 million rica), an increase of 7.7 % on an annual basis.

The segment that includes the division of Namco Bandai games has seen an increase in sales of 8, 1%, reaching the figure of 35.6 billion yen (about 463mila dollars). Operating profit was 519 million instead of yen (about $ 6.7 million), while total software sales totaled 10.4 billion yen (about $ 135 million).

The best-selling titles in Japan for Namco Bandai, this quarter, were One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP Nintendo 3DS 170 thousand copies, Tales of the Abyss always 3DS 150 thousand copies and Super Robot Wars for PSP with 70 thousand copies.
