It all started a few months ago, after the publication of the last installment of Rock Band. Despite the success at the level of criticism, not the music game showed convincing performance from the commercial point of view, so that immediately after Viacom announced its intention to sell the developer.
This has sued Viacom for alleged manipulation of the costs aimed at non-payment of certain bonuses. The gap between the two became official a few days ago, when the developer said it had obtained its independence thanks to a capital investment company, Columbus Nova, the U.S., as reported by GamesIndustry.
Harmonix made it known to be keen on the idea of return "to the roots of independent study." The company is currently working on some DLC for Rock Band 3.
