For every game sold in stores they are downloaded illegally four. A branch to the statistic was the organization that brings together the British publisher of video games, UKIE. The research was carried out thanks to information received directly from producers, which they estimate losses due to piracy in about 1.45 billion pounds in 2010 alone.
Unfortunately it was not clear to which these numbers refer to the market and which platforms are affected. "The result of this trend is that most investors are becoming less willing to invest money to create games and in the long run this will lead to a collapse of the market," said a member of UKIE.
"Take for example Call of Duty: often monitor the flow of illegal downloads for the game and Activision have also recorded 100,000 simultaneous downloads the same day in record shops. "We're trying to run for cover to stem the flow but the sensation is like being in a quagmire of quicksand, which move in is equivalent to sink even faster."
