Sakaguchi - the JRPG must change

The chat with the creator of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi, father of Final Fantasy, and Tetsuya Takahashi, the creator of Xenoblade, discussed with Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president in the special section of the Iwata Asks, about the decline in quality and sales of the JRPG genre . According to Sakaguchi JRPG genre must be renewed to return to the glories of the past.

In response, Iwata has indicated an excessive use of the same patterns and same conventions that affect the evolution of the genre as well as making it less attractive in foreign markets (compared to Japan of course). Sakaguchi, who agreed, specified that the designer of Japan, who are good to emphasize emotions and details, should further enhance these capabilities.

Capacity according to the three designers that can be easily incorporated abroad, if the product is interesting. Moreover, the film found international success by demonstrating that cultural conventions are a relative. The curious thing is that The Last Story and Xenoblade, or the latest creations of two designers interviewed by Iwata, are not currently included in the West.
