Satoru Iwata unveils the prototype of the Nintendo 3DS

Different dimensions, position of Inside Circle Pad and more interesting book Iwata Asks the Nintendo site. com, Satoru Iwata unveiled the prototype of 3DS. Nintendo's intention was in fact to make a handheld console as small as possible, despite the hardware of a certain level inside. The model in the first picture to the right of the final version, presents slightly smaller size.

This is the first prototype ever, that no accident has been called "minimum model". It was not even equipped with cameras and 3D screen. Having made the decision to enter the 3D screen and the Circle Pad, Nintendo has created a second prototype, very similar to the final model, but where the position of the d-pad and analog are reversed.

Just the analog gave a lot of headaches for designers, as has been rethought and redesigned several times. Source: Nintendo
